Fleetwood Mac is the moon energy to ABBA’s sun energy.
Like the amount of sense that this makes and the depth of it are too powerful and cryptic. The fact that this wisdom can exist in such a stable form….it astounds me.
In an effort to share a little black and queer history during this turbulent Pride month, here’s a comic about one of my favorite musicians, Sister Rosetta Tharpe.
I regularly say something along the lines of ‘I can’t watch films because I have no attention span’. Which is likely unhelpful as well as inaccurate, and something i should get out of the habit of saying.
In reality I of course have an attention span, I just have a very poor ability to direct it at tasks that need doing, and instead just have long periods of lethargic uselessness, followed by random bursts of SUPER ATTENTION on things that don’t need doing.
Long story short I’ve got very little interview prep done all day and now have lost the hours of 9pm - 2am to the Digital Transgender Archive, pouring over newsletters from the 90s and newspapers from the 1890s. Also finally reading Trans Britain, which i’ve had for ages but have struggled to read even though its very interesting.
Right now, the UK government are trying to run one of the most insidious and disgusting propaganda campaigns. The Department of Health and Social Care were caught creating 128 fake Twitter accounts to defend the Prime Minister, to undermine scientific advice from the WHO, and to deflect from the government’s catastrophic failures in this country.
This is the Britain we live in now; a government propped up by sock puppets and lies. Were we not in lockdown, many of us fighting for our lives then we would need to be in the streets and demanding the arrest and prosecution of a government more interested in securing power than protecting the lives of its people.
The people protesting to open businesses up don’t want to go back to work, they want *you* to go back to work so they can go to a movie or a restaurant.
Protest for financial support, don’t protest to reopen contamination risks!
